Martinis & Masterpieces

The Arts & Business Council of Greater Phoenix and The Junior League of Phoenix have partnered to present the second annual Martinis & Masterpieces. This whimsical event will showcase the talent of celebrity, business leaders and professional sports personalities through their everyday “doodles”. These doodles will be auctioned off at the event on April 3.
The one-of-a-kind celebrity doodles will include a variety of pieces from Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Governor Napolitano, television and sports stars, AZ corporations, chefs, and more! Some of last year’s celebrity doodlers included Joan Collins, Linda Evans, the Phoenix Suns Gorilla, and The Blue Man Group.
Guests will be treated to “signature” martinis from several of the valley’s premiere restaurants, along with micro-brews and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Current sponsors of the 2008 event include: Bryan Cave, LLP, the herb box, Swoozie’s, Alliance Beverage, Hensley, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Wells Fargo.
Glendale Jazz & Blues Festival
Glendale founder W.J. Murphy who donated land for a town square in 1909 probably never envisioned thousands of music lovers would eventually fill those shaded lawns for April’s annual Glendale Jazz & Blues Festival. Jumpin’ jazz, soulful blues combine with ethnic foods, crafts, wine tasting and more. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for this event in the northwest part of Greater Phoenix. Scottsdale Culinary Festival

Major League Baseball

Phoenix Jazz & Blues Festival
In April or May, the Phoenix Jazz & Blue Festival each year presents bands from coast to coast, with area restaurants catering the event at Steele Indian School Park.
