There are many ways to find out all about Florida first time home buyer grants, the first one is the local county office in the city where you live. They are sure to have the necessary information. Today with the United Sates economy in the process of recovering from its recent downfall, it is important for governments to stimulate individuals and families into buying new homes.

The amount of the grants varies depending on the persons income and the location of the house he or she wants to buy. Getting this money for a down payment on a house is not hard but there are conditions to be met. Procedures must be followed and the process does not take one week, it takes longer because they will verify all the information you give them before granting you the money.

Many people work all their lives and are never able to put together enough money for a down payment on their own home. This applies especially to young couples starting their lives together. They want a family and they want to progress, this is difficult if you have to pay rent every month. This money coming from federal and state grants is free; you will not have to give it back.

Other people have struggled for years saving and scrapping up pennies to put that down payment on a house just to see it lose its value with market changes and economic depressions and the like. This is why these programs exist and why you should take advantage of them. You will have to make monthly payments and keep the house in shape but the grant you receive will be a large chunk of the value of the house you are buying.

There are three factors which are the heart of the process. If you qualify inside the parameter of these three factors you will have no problem receiving a grant from the state of Florida or the federal government. These factors are absolute and you must comply with all of them, not one or two, all three of them are necessary.

The first one is that you have to be within the average income bracket of the community or area where you want to buy your house. Remember that you can lie on the grant letter but they will need a letter from your boss saying that the salary you mention is correct. They will also go to the Internal Revenue Service to find out how much taxes you filled for. If you lie, you will go to jail.

You must also find a bank or lending institution that will finance the rest of the house for you. The loan has to be low interest and have a long payment time. With this they are trying to make sure that you are capable of paying for the house you are buying and that you will not be facing for foreclosure in six months time. It is up to you to find a lender for the rest of the house.

The last important condition in the state of Florida is that you may not have owned a house in the past three years. If you moved to Florida from another state you must disclose this information and let them know if you owned or own a house elsewhere in the United States. If all three conditions are okay you will most definitely receive the grant money you need for your home.
